Boat Trip to the Islands of Callao

Callao is a constitutional province, located a few kilometers away from Lima, where visitors can take a boat trip allowing them to see different species inhabiting the islands such as penguins, runners, among others. The highpoint comes when arriving to Palomino Islands, a place inhabited by sea lions. This is where visitors have the opportunity to swim together with these animals. It is quite a unique experience.

Anticuchos (Cut Stew Meat)

Ceviche (Raw fish filet cut into pieces and marinated in key lime juice, onions, and aji limo)

It is the flagship dish of Peru. It captivates palates with its exquisite combination of fish, lemon and pepper. It is definitely a dish that every visitor must try when visiting Peru.

Causa Limeña (Mashed yellow potatoes seasoned with lime and aji (hot pepper), and filled with tuna or chicken)

It is a refreshing cold entrée based on yellow boiled potatoes, mashed and mixed with a little pepper. It can be stuffed with tuna, chicken or even seafood and served with a light coating of mayonnaise. It is definitely a delicious option.

Main Square

When you arrive quickly to the city, there are buildings that still retain features of the Viceroy Times. The imposing Cathedral is just one of many signs of a detailed architecture. A wagon ride around the square will transport you to ancient times. On the way there, you will see The Palacio de Gobierno (Government Palace) and if you arrive by noon, you will witness its exciting change of guard.

The Sacred City of Pachacamac

Located at thirty-one (31) kilometers from Lima, this place is surrounded with temples and pyramids. This was the largest ceremonial center of Peru and its oracle was the one the most frequented in the Andean world.
